Venous drainage upper limb
The Cephalic vein runs lateral to biceps and as it ascends lies in the deltopectoral groove.
The Basilic originates on the ulnar border of the hand from the dorsal venous network.
The prominent vein on the radial side is the cephalic vein - a common site for venous cannulation and traditionally known as Housemens Friend.
The Basilic and Cephalic have a number of communications including the cubital fossa - a common site for venous cannulation.
